Hi- I’m Mel

My name is Melissa. Most people just call me Mel. I’m a coffee-drinking, Twitter-loving, Pad Thai-eating mama to two crazy boys. Their claim to fame? They were born on the same day, three years apart!

My claim to fame? Well, I don’t quite have one. Yet.

What I can tell you is that I’m a wife, mother, marketer, crafter, hiker and photographer with a touch of Southern class (but just a little bit of the accent).

I love the outdoors – hiking in a crisp fall day, camping underneath the stars, relaxing by the lake – all the things we sometimes forget to experience in a world of DVRs, smartphones and computers. But I’m sort of a paradox because I love all those things too. I don’t mind roughing it (ask this girl about her orange trowel) but I’m happy to get home and wash my hair three times to get the campfire smell washed out. Then jump on the computer and blog while watching a Grey’s Anatomy re-run.

When I’m not holding down the fort here, I’m holding down the fort at my blog about blogging Momcomm. I’ve got 11 years of experience in the marketing world and package that knowledge up to help mamas become better writers, bloggers and social media geeks. About the Blog

I started Adventuroo in 2009 but just like life, it’s morphed and changed from then until now. I blog about motherhood, the outdoors and capturing the adventures in the everyday.

You’ll find easy tips to take better pictures at the beach, on a hike and even at your local children’s museum.

Occasionally (and by that I mean twice), I documented an ENTIRE week of our family life for future generations to mock. This past time, Adventuroo readers joined in and did it too. You’d be surprised what you learn about yourself in a week like that.

And what “mom blog” would be complete without talking about motherhood and my two Roos. Sometimes it’s funny. Sometimes poignant. And sometimes thought-provoking.
