You know how you blink, then open your eyes to find a six month old baby staring at you instead of a squinty-eyed newborn?
Yeah, same thing happened to me.
This little baby went from wrinkly skin, striking blue eyes and head of dark hair like this…
… to a crawling baby with (still) blue eyes (the only Culbertson grandkid with them), a curious combover and a tongue that won’t stay in his mouth…
Now THAT’S some major cuteness, if I do say so myself.
With each month, I always write down a few notes on what Little Roo is like at that age. Because baby brain is still impairing me and if I don’t write it down, it’s probably forgotten forever!
Here’s what the little rascal has been up to lately:
- Sticks his tongue out when excited (doctor got a kick out of it at his check-up)
- Crawling around like a crazy baby
- Sitting up (but still needs to be spotted)
- Had to lower the crib this past weekend to level 2 because he keeps grabbing the rails and lifting up
- Now he just grabs the top rail and lifts up so that he’s standing on his knees
- Still breastfeeding (hit my goal and I’m still going strong- woot!)
- Has two teeth (bottom middle)
- Wakes up smiling and gabbing 95% of the time
- Goes to bed around 8:00-8:30, I wake him to nurse at 11, then he WAS sleeping until 6:30. Now he’s been waking around 4 or 5 but I’m trying not to nurse him, just soothe, so he doesn’t make a habit of it
- Loves watching his brother when they’re riding in the car (Big Roo makes him laugh a lot)
- Intrigued by anything crinkly-feeling (like toys that made a crinkle sound, pack of wipes, etc.)
- Tried baby food this past weekend- sweet potatoes (more on first foods next week)
- Will try to grab at anything you put in front of him (including dinner plates)
- Loves his Jumperoo but not so keen on his bouncer
- Nicknames: Grippy, Baby E
And my personal favorite… I tweeted this the other day:
I was changing Little Roo’s diaper the other day and he tooted, then looked at me and SMILED!
What is it with boys?

so cute – happy six months little man! (um, I am only SIX MONTHS behind on the new baby mail I have to send you… yeesh!) Our little ones went through a tongue-sticking-out phase at six months too – is it maybe teething related? Too funny to look back at all the pictures from that age b/c it’s all about the tiny pink tongue (wait, am I raising children or puppies???) – anyway, wow, half a year already! (and I totally have good sleeper envy – keep it up dude!)
haha- it’s okay. As a mom of two kids now too, I know how hectic it is! (ok, that sounded like a commercial or something). What is it with that tongue? I don’t remember N doing that!

Kuddos to you, mama! He looks like a sweetie & you know it’s just going to keep getting better. Like watching the little guy touch his privates and smile up at you. Yeah, good times!
LOL! I know, huh? Sheesh!
Little Roo is super cute! I remember the same thing happening to me with both my boys. Six months goes by in the blink of an eye and yet they change so much from that little new born to a on the go baby. I like how you write things down as you go. I am horrible at remembering to do this. Poor Wyatt isn’t going to have a very good list! I love the comb over Myles used to have one too and I called it his Donald Trump hair do LOL. Hope your having a great week!

Oh yes, hair like The Donald. It’s so funny too because he had SO much hair when he was born. Ah well!

He is adorable, and you should be proud!! We having something in common, we both posted on a topic that included boys and potty humor. Although, my potty humor isn’t from a cute, 6 month old…mine comes from an 8 and 7 year!!
Blessings,
Monica
This post is just too cute. I absolutely LOVE those two pictures you put up and I love hearing what he has been up to. Kids are such a blessing. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

Cuteness overload!!
As for to laughing while tooting…yep, it’s a male thing. I think if Hubby could toot and get away with laughing about it, he would!

What a cutie! Yup – tooting and smiling – a guy thing! My nearly-two-year-old does that a lot. My 3 month old “sharted” on me the other day (totally NOT cute) and then gave me the biggest grin.

Oh my goodness he has the CUTEST expressions ever! I actually took a bunch of photos of Jimmy (my 4 yo) playing CandyLand today, with his tongue sticking out. So stinking cute
I wish I would have taken notice of your posts like these sooner, I would have loved to documented things for Baby #3. Poor guy, i didn’t document much of anything for him.

What an absolute cutie pie. I love those eyes, and that little tongue sticking out is too much! Congrats on the six months BFing. Yeah mom. It does go by so very, very fast. My baby is 15 months now and it feels like that first year went by in a week. He’s about to walk unassisted and I’m on the cusp of a complete meltdown over it. He’s my last child and him walking, for me, will signal the end of my years with babies. He’ll officially be a toddler. Sniff. Happy six months little roo.

He’s almost 3 and loves to declare, “I toot my buns!!”

Crazy cute! Love the tongue. And yes – I have two boys and they come hard-wired to think toots, burps, underarm “farts” and all things bodily and disgusting are HI-larious. Nobody has to teach them. Today I swear up and down that my 15-mo-old blamed the 4-yr-old for his stink. He pointed at his brother and cracked up.

Those pictures are too cute for words. I love baby hair and the funny growth patterns they get. I look back at pictures of my son and his hair is hilarious. He had quite the mullet going for a while. I know he will love us for that when he gets older.
