Summer is here, so now what? Well, having a baby in the house again tames anything major going on this summer, like skydiving in the Amazon or climbing Everest. Stinkin’ babies.
So here’s my list of slightly to really, really adventurous things to tackle this summer!
1. Take a trip to the beach (my sister lives in Myrtle and I’m inviting myself- hi sis!)
2. Pick strawberries
3. Visit a splash park
4. Teach Big Roo some more about swimming
5. Go out on a boat
6. Catch fireflies
7. Go to the local natural science museum
8. Make an outdoor craft
9. Visit family in Atlanta
10. Take a trip to the mountains
11. Do something spontaneous
12. Go camping in our backyard
13. Buy something from the farmer’s market
14. Plant some more herbs (& use them)
15. Teach Big Roo to write his name
16. Use our new grill as much as possible
17. Sit on the back deck and watch the sunset
18. Wish upon a star
19. Walk the dog more often
20. Make homemade popsicles
And the less-adventurous-but-on-my-list-anyway-list…
21. Scrapbook pictures of Little Roo (haven’t done squat since he was born)
22. Give myself a pedicure and actually keep paint on the toenails
23. Start a new section of my blog I’ve been noodling over
24. Take an online pen tablet class
25. Watch a full movie without surfing the internet
26. Start teaching Turbo Kick again (took a pregnancy hiatus)
27. Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (depends on how well #26 goes now doesn’t it?)
28. Finish decorating the kids’ rooms
29. Give some stuff away to charity
30. Have a night out with my local bloggy friends
So what the hell am I to do with this list now? Print it out and draw little check boxes by everything, of course! I’m a little obsessed with checklists. I’m surprised I don’t need a checklist to get myself ready in the morning. What’s on your summer adventure list?

Wow, that’s quite a list! Many of those things are on our list too! We really want to pick Blueberries! We put several gallons on our freezer every summer!
Oh blueberries would be fun too but our neighbor has a bunch of bushes and just handed up a bunch yesterday!

What an inspirational list! Really. I might need to come back and snag some of those ideas for my own list.

This is too funny — I’m working on the exact same post myself! I guess great minds think alike! Looks like you’ve got quite a few great ideas here. I look forward to down time in Yosemite, adventures with the big explorer and camping with kids for the first time!
Great minds think alike! Oh I can’t wait to hear about you camping with kids!
I like how some of the adventurous ones are simple things like being spontaneous.
The best of skill in watching a movie all the way through without surfing the Internet.
Thanks for sharing,
fabulous list!! love all of them and gave me some ideas too!!
hey, let’s scrap together… friday night at 9pm… good?
absolutely! I DID manage to get ONE single page scrapbooked this weekend. Better than nothing I guess!
Good for you for making such a great list! I have some mental lists like this. Strawberry picking is on our list for next week
I do have a large list of cleaning chores – kitchen cabinets, bathrooom cabinets, etc. Good luck!!
Great list! I should add doing a craft to mine. My kids love doing crafts, and yet, I stink at them so we don’t do them as much as we could!

Love this! So far, my list only has “eat hotdogs” but you’ve inspired me to reach a little higher.

Hey Mel. Saw this other blog about writing and thought you might be interested. I’ll get going on my summer bucket list. This weekend is time with my first born. Heaven!
Great list. I hope I can help you check some of those off!

I adore that pic.
Kudos to making a list. I couldn’t even cross “make a list of things to do this summer” off my to do list. I suck.
I HAVE to build a list like this. I just camped in the backyard on Memorial Day, but fear that the summer will be over before I know it and I’ll miss my opportunities. Thanks for the inspiration!
Good luck with your list! It was fun to do. I just hope I can live up to it!
What a great summer bucket list! I’m dying to try and catch some fireflies this summer. Last year we were at a friend’s house where our kids were outside catching fireflies. One of the little kids decided to eat one of the fireflies in an effort to mimick the Curious George movie. It was pretty funny.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend and good luck with that bucket list!

Oh man, I’m sure that didn’t taste good. Or maybe it did.
Yep, we lived in AZ for 5 years and one of the things I missed most were fireflies!
I just found your blog from the blogroll at familycampman.com and it’s really great! We’ve been trying to come up with fun things to do with my 2-year old daughter this summer, and I’m going to print this out and show it to my wife.
We’ve already been to the Outer Banks this summer and to the Children’s Museum multiple times, so we’ve crossed a few off already…

Saw your comment on 31DBBB and had to check out your bucket list. I did one too, not knowing it was a Mama Kat prompt! We have some to-do’s in common!
