Showered with Gifts, Not Snow

My two sisters threw me a wonderful baby shower this past weekend. The bummer was that one of my sisters (middle sis) was stuck in the DC area under a mere 24 inches of snow and couldn’t make it down. The shower was actually scheduled for last weekend but the snow we got here in Raleigh made us postpone it until this week thinking it would be better. It was better for most of us but my sister, mom and step-mom couldn’t make it which sucked.

The good news was that my should-be-an-event-planner sister shipped decorations, presents and more so we’d have them for the party. I dived in to help my other sister (little sis) who could drove up from Myrtle Beach. We ran to Target and Harris Teeter on Friday night and spent Saturday morning setting up. Daddy Roo got in the action too, making sandwiches, cutting up veggies and straightening up.

My little sister handled the party beautifully! She got the party started, led the shower games and was the perfect hostess! It was a blast laughing with friends, opening gifts and taking the load off of a VERY stressful week.

Now, I just have to show off some of their party planning prowess with you guys…

Here’s the invite they selected from Tiny Prints. It’s exactly my style and I would have picked the same thing for myself if I were throwing my own party!

And my middle sister, being the crafty fox that she is, made this mobile to match the invitation.

My sisters found these cute-as-heck signs online and they matched the theme perfectly. Don’t they just rock?

As for the sweets, check out these cupcakes… toasted coconut, Jelly Bellys and a tub of frosting. Simple but oh so clever!
