No Really, We Got Snow! Now, Here's How to Enjoy It

by melissa on January 29, 2010

Mother Nature has been such a tease until now around the Triangle. Since I started this blog, my only two posts about snow were actually posts about how we got teased and schools got delayed. The ending always seemed to be the same… (in your best Debbie Downer impression) waaa waaa, no white stuff.

Now it’s Friday night and I have PROOF it’s going to snow… the powdery flakes are coming down as we speak. After the initial shock wore off, I decided to compile THE mac daddy list of things to do in the snow (and winter in general). Let’s face it- I grew up in the South and lived in Phoenix too. Since I don’t know what the heck to do for fun during a “snowpocalypse” I’m relying on other awesome writers from around the web to share THEIR best tips.

Some ideas overlap from post to post, but there are enough ideas here to last for weeks of being snowed in (we’ll just all run out of milk and bread first).

Thanks for putting this list together — and congrats to you on finally getting to see some white stuff. Me? Not so much. (It is SoCal, after all, so I guess I’ll have to settle for sun instead …) Considering an outing to the local mountains for some snow play next month, so I’ll keep these ideas on hand. Have fun & I can’t wait to see the proof!

Great ideas Melissa and thanks for sharing. I’m going to be very cheeky and add my “Winter Wonderland” pack to your list. It’s free to download from the resources section of my website http://www.creativestarlearning.co.uk
